A handsome double sided bookcase made in the 70's by Serota of London who are known for custom-made beautiful craftsmanship of uncompromising quality which will last for decades and also their attention to detail. Certainly this bookcase has lasted decades. It has 2 heavy duty castor wheels which together with a wooden handle enable the bookcase to be moved around when necessary. It has 2 sloping shelves with backs on each side which hold the books nicely in place and a large shelf at the bottom, open to both sides. There is a black strip of rubber (inset into the wood) down each of the 4 sides which protects the edges of the bookcase from any scrapes and also looks stylish.
The bookcase has been sanded and treated with several coats of oil which has brought out the quality, colour and grain of the wood and protected it from future use.
There may still be some minor surface scratches and nicks noticeable but only at close inspection (please see photos).
