A wonderful set of 'post-modern' leather dining chairs. They were designed in the 80's by Arnold Merckx in collaboration with Arco. The arms are beautifully sculptured as are the leather seat backs and they are made for comfort as well as design.
This set of 4 chairs, were designed in the 80's and manufactured in the 90's. 2 of the chairs still have the Arco paper labels attached with August 1992 stamped on them.
They are very solid chairs and the leather is saddle leather which is made to last. It is very unusual to see these designer chairs for sale in the UK as they were made in the Netherlands.
The chairs have been well cared for and the wood frames are all in a very good vintage condition with very few signs of use. The leather seats have also been well cared for - hard to imagine that they are over 30 years old, with a slightly mottled colour on the seats, if you look closely. (Please see photos).
