Sustainability

I've always enjoyed sourcing vintage and antique furniture both for my own home and for my customers.  There’s the excitement of finding something that is beautifully made and unique which will add both character and style to your chosen room.  Many of the pieces have been hand crafted, made from good quality natural materials and will go on to last for many years as well as being affordable.

The added advantage is that the furniture is being saved from landfill and reduces the demand for ‘fast’ furniture (which is often made from poor quality materials and not made to last) therefore contributing to a more sustainable planet.

This sustainable approach is also followed when packaging furniture for delivery.  I recycle cardboard boxes and packaging where possible; use new ribbed cardboard which can be recycled and biodegradable bubble wrap.

For deliveries in the North of the country I am fortunate enough to be able to use

Lakes Electric delivery Service where deliveries are made in a 100% electric vehicle to minimise environmental impact.  Deliveries further afield I use Couriers who collect and deliver all along their routes, making economical sense whilst being kinder to the planet.

In addition to this website I sell on Vinterior and Etsy.  Etsy is the first major shopping site to offset 100% of carbon emissions from shipping and packaging of every delivery. They're not stopping there—they've also committed to reaching net zero emissions by 2030.
