A 1920s cube shaped travel trunk which has been relined in an Art Nouveau style fabric. The trunk has a label with a picture of a man holding the trunk aloft as though to demonstrate that it is lightweight as opposed to the heavy leather luggage that was popular at the time. It is made from a toughened canvas and is leather bound with the original top leather handle still in tact. Replacement leather handles have been crafted out of a leather belt and attached to the sides of the trunk making it easy to lift. Two brass studs have been placed at the front of the trunk and two brass coloured buttons at the back. The rest of the exterior of the trunk has been left untouched showing it's age and use.
The upholstery fabric (a remnant left over from upholstering dining chairs) used for lining the inside of the trunk is Boucheron by Crowson and is circa 1980's, made in England, treated by Scotchguard. It has been attached to the trunk with Velcro stick on fasteners for fabric so that the fabric can be easily removed to be washed or replaced.
The colours of the material blend beautifully with brown outer colour and really enhance this lovely trunk.
This a stylish piece of luggage and it is also very functional . Great for storing hats, clothes and accessories, blankets, towels, toys and books etc.
Part of the lock is missing however the fasteners at the front keep it closed.
