This a stylish chest of drawers. It's made from elm wood by Knechtel in Ontario, Canada a company established in 1864. The 4 drawers are 73cm wide and 17cm deep, made completely from wood and their curved fronts really add character to the chest of drawers as do the unusual brass handles. The wood has a beautiful grain as expected from elm wood. The drawers sit on 4 splayed wooden legs which complete the stylish look.
The top drawers has the furniture makers stamp on it.
They are in a good vintage condition with a few nicks and scratches on the top of the drawers and a slight patchiness in places at the front of the drawers where the some of the stain has rubbed off (please see photos) but nothing to deter from the real style, quality and also practicality of this lovely chest of drawers.
