This is such a beautifully ornate Rococo style console table from the Victorian era. The table top has elaborately curved edges with intricate foliate carved back and front panels and sits on serpentine shaped legs ending in claw and ball feet. Carved wooden scrolls join the legs together at the crossbar of the console. The mahogany has a lovely two tone grain and a lovely glossy shine to it.

There is quite a mystery to the table as it has two holes carved into the table top. It may be that it originally had a mirror attached to it. However they are perfectly placed to cover with candle holders as I have done.

Other than this the console is in a very good used conditionand has obviously been well cared for. (The light colours on the table top are reflections not marks.) There has been a repair to the top of the back left leg (please see photo 7 ). The back panel was a little loose so we have replaced the 4 original screws to make it sturdier.

The above measurements are for the console table top. At it's widest point - the curve of the legs - it measures 132cm and depth 56cm.

The console table goes beautifully with the rococo style gilt mirror which is available for sale on a separate listing on this site.
