A rare antique black lacquered oriental sideboard. It has wonderfully decorative brass hinges and corner plates which have leaves and patterns etched onto them and a central brass 'flower' shape. The circle to the right of the flower slides to the side to open or close the cabinet.
Inside the cabinet are beautifully crafted camphor wood drawers of varying sizes, really useful for storage. The space above the wood drawers is 25.5cm in height - very useful for storing drinks or collectibles.
This is a really unique cabinet and would look stunning in many different interiors as well as being useful storage.
A piece of glass fits onto the top of the cabinet and has kept it in a great condition. The brass has a acquired a lovely patina to it over time. The lacquer on the front of the cabinet is in a good condition and the sides have a few streaks and cracks on them as would be expected of a cabinet of this age (please see photos). There is no key for the lock.
