A lovely traditional 19th Century turned oak stool with barley twist legs. The splayed legs are joined by matching barley twist stretchers and the stool top has floral carvings on it with the edges decorated in semi-circular patterns. The legs are a dark coloured oak with a lighter oak table top, giving it a lovely two-tone effect.
It is a versatile piece of furniture as it can be used as a side table with just enough room to rest a cup and book on; as a plant stand; to rest your feet on or as intended - simply to sit on.
It is in a lovely condition - hard to imagine it is over 150 years old! There is just one split in the wood on one of the legs which you can see in photo 5 but otherwise only minor signs of wear and tear.
