The 'Pandora's box' coffee table was designed by British manufacturer Ercol in the 1970s, appearing in the 1978 catalogue as 'a new concept in furniture'. Made of solid elm, Ercol mid century furniture is fantastic quality, built to last. This is their Golden Dawn colour.
This coffee table has great storage - 2 drawers plus plenty of space on the lower shelf for books, games or other items. It has a large square top and castors on the bottom to allow it to be moved easily around the room. Its rounded edges and timeless design make it perfect for both mid-century and contemporary interiors.
The coffee table has been well used and is in a good vintage condition. There are some slightly paler marks on the table top and a few scuffs at the bottom edges. The handle on the bottom drawer has a historical repair with a piece missing. Please see photos and video for condition. However this is still a stunning and stylish piece of furniture.
