This is such a beautiful dining table made from solid elm with stylish splayed beech legs. One of the Ercolion's most ingenious designs and made in the UK. Comfortable seating for up to ten people when extended, 6 when closed. The top is in two sections, extending by the telescopic action of the under rails of each section. Every attention to detail has been given to this table including a 5th centre supporting leg which slides back towards one end of the table (well away from the sitter's feet) when the table is in its closed position. Extended or closed (made so that 1 person can easily open or close it) it has a bolt locking device for complete rigidity . The two loose folding hinged centre leaves are stored under the top of the table as shown in the final photo. The blue Ercol label on the 5th leg dates the table to between 1954 to 1976.
The table has been fully restored and the surface treated with a premium hard wax oil to both enhance the wood and protect for future use, resulting in an immaculate restored condition.
This is a stylish table that will adapt from every day use to any large gathering of family or friends.
