A stunning Victorian stained leaded glass lantern with it's brass castle frame shape and multi-coloured leaded stained glass panels. The central diamond shaped pieces have all been cut from the same flower patterned white stained glass and around it are different colours of blue lilac and green textured glass with just one smooth green stained piece.
Originally created for use as an oil lamp it has a door with a small button knob & latch which secure the door closed.
The brass has gained a wonderfully aged patina over time whilst retaining is shine and all the brass patterned motifs are in tact.
When the light shines through the coloured panels it casts a gorgeous glow as it reflects through the various coloured pieces of stained glass. It would look great hanging in a porch, hallway or landing.
The lantern historically has been adapted from it's original oil lamp in order to be hung as a pendant light. An oval has been cut out of the brass rod in order for the flex of the mains light to be able to pass through the middle of it. It also has a gold metal ceiling fitting.
