This is an original Lloyd Loom 'Lusty' armchair. It is a deluxe model with brass feet and it's larger dimensions allow more room for comfort. It was very popular in the 20s and furnished the luxurious Viceroy of India ocean liner. The chair is still it's original colour of light Jacobean and age has given it a lovely golden patina in parts.

It is a very strong woven chair with metal brackets underneath to keep the wooden frame in place. As you may expect from a chair that is nearly 100 years old there are a few areas of wear and tear, particularly at the top of the head rest and front of of the seat (please see photos).

W. Lusty manufactured and held the patent for the American Lloyd Loom furniture in England and in the 20s operated from Bromley by Bow in London. The manufacturer's card label is still in tact under the chair and dates the chair around the late 1920s.

NB The cushions are not included.
