It is said that furniture made by the skilled craftsmen Johnstone and Jeanes is made of highly quality timber. This certainly rings true for this large mahogany towel stand which was made between 1842 and 1880 when the company was based in New Bond Street, London. It has definitely stood the test of time and is in excellent condition, being both solid and sturdy. The only indication of use over time is a lightening of colour on the side rails. It would certainly grace many style of bathroom and is also a practical buy as its size ensures it holds a good selection of towels.
